Sony has unveiled in India its new S2 Sports Walkman MP3 Player which is housed in durable and aluminum water-resistant casing featuring digital MP3 player and builtin FM Radio and is targeted at the workout enthusiast with lots of sweat and puffs.
Available in capacities of 1GB and 2GB, the new ultraportable Sony S2 Sports Walkwan is capable of playing digital audio music with variety of formats including AAC(non-DRM), MP3, WMA(non-DRM) and ATRAC(R), Sony’s own custom music format and are compatible with CONNECT Music, the Sony CONNECT online music service.The gadget sports a compact and cylindrical form factor design with a tiny size not bigger than the tube of lipstick pack can fit into the included armband, which straps securely and comfortably around your arm.
The Sony S2 Sports MP3 player is water resistant and made of aluminum, weighs just about 28 grams (one ounce). Though compact, the players can store up to 1,350 songs on the 2GB model and 685 songs on the 1GB model.
The Sony S2 Sports MP3 plater features a one-line organic electroluminescence (OEL) display, a Shuffle Shake feature that lets easily switch to shuffle mode by shaking the player three times within two seconds. To enhance the sound, the S2 Sports MP3 player offers preset equalizer to match the type of music one is listening to like jazz, pop, heavy or custom.
The Sony S2 Sports Mps player’s distinctive one-line organic electroluminescence (OEL) display accommodates both left-handed and right-handed users alike and is designed with ability to rotate the orientation of the display, track and title names, the time and date, plus other information can now be viewed how ever user prefers.
The flash memory based Sony S2 Sports MP3 players are based on Sony’s G-Sensor technology, which automatically detects speed variation and via the Music Pacer, one can match their play lists according to the workout. In addition, the Music Pacer function detects users walking speed, tempo and acceleration and is capable of automatically switching over to an appropriate playlist predefinded for target value.
Pick Up the Pace
If you want to increase intensity when walking or running, the step, distance and calorie counter features (in sports mode) enable you to track the number of steps taken, the distance traveled and the calories burned. The set target feature allows you to input the amount of time, calories or distance you want to achieve for your workout, so the music will play until the target is accomplished. The player will record the step count, distance and calories burned history from your last seven workouts, so you can track your progress. You can also use it as a stopwatch to time yourself.
The S2 MP3 player can store up to 1,350 songs on the 2GB model and 685 songs on the 1GB model.
Weighing about 28 grams the Sony S2 Sports Walkman MP3 player is capable of providing upto 3 hrs of playtime after just three minutes of charging but with full charge it can deliver mamoth 18 hours of playtime.
